Book 'GLOBAL ENERGY: ISSUES, POTENTIALS AND POLICY IMPLICATIONS'
Global Energy: Issues, Potentials and Policy Implications is a book prepared by UKERC in their Phase II Flagship project UK Energy in a Global Context. One of the key objectives of Phase II of UKERC was to locate the UK’s energy policy and decision options more explicitly in their global context, and the flagship project UK Energy in a Global Context seeks to draw on and integrate UKERC work that is related to various global energy issues, trends and developments, and to explore their implications for the UK. The book will be supplemented by a policy-relevant, much shorter, Synthesis Report.
UKERC is funded by The Research Councils' Energy Programme and is the main body in the UK carrying out research in sustainable energy. It works with the UK and international energy communities and its research informs UK policy developers. UKERC has the headquarters in Imperial College, London and provides support to 30 universities and research institutions in the UK. UKERC promotes knowledge exchange and provides information about the most up-to-date challenges the UK energy industry faces.
The Policy Innovation Group have co-authored the chapter 'Water: Ocean Energy and Hydro Power' and led the work carried out on ocean energy.
