Last week several members of the Policy and Innovation Group attended the European Wave and Tidal Energy Conference (EWTEC) 2019 in Naples, Italy. For more information on the event, visit the EWTEC2019 website.
Tianna Bloise Thomaz covered work done within the EnFAIT project, she presented a capability assessment of the DTOcean Array Design Tool. For her presentation, please follow this link. Shona Pennock discussed her work in collaboration with Corpower Ocean on offsetting wave and wind resource and the resultant economic benefit in Great Britain. For her presentation, please follow this link. Anna Garcia-Teruel even presented two pieces of work. The first presentation covered a part of her PhD work on the metrics for wave energy converter hull geometry optimisation. The second presentation was on a collaborative study towards reliability-based geometry optimisation of a point-absorber with PTO reliability objectives. Noor van Velzen presented, on behalf of Simon Robertson and Donald Noble, a development update of the Electro-Mechanical Generator by UMBRAGROUP as part of the EMERGE and IMAGINE projects.
